R. v. S.C. – August 2022

Impaired Driving and Flight From Police

Our client was alleged to have continued down the highway despite police attempts to pull her over. Police boxed in her vehicle near her home and immediately arrested her. We argued to Crown counsel that due to her inability to understand English her right to counsel was breached at the roadside. We also outlined to Crown her significant sympathetic circumstances that led to the incident. Crown agreed to a non-criminal plea under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Result: No Criminal Record and No Driving Prohibition
