R. v. S.L. – June 2023
Obstruction of a Police Officer
Our client was charged with obstruction when he was pulled over by police for a Motor Vehicle Act violation. At trial, the officer testified that our client was aggressive and was potentially holding a “modified cell phone gun” and that he was not listening to police directions. During cross-examination, we surprised the officer with a video that our client had taken during the interaction which showed that the officer was not telling the truth. Crown dropped the charges immediately afterwards.
