R. v. M.R. – February 2022
Drug Trafficking Case Study: Potential Four-Year Jail Sentence Reduced to House Arrest
Our client pled guilty to trafficking in fentanyl and carfentanil. Crown Counsel asked the judge to impose a four-year jail sentence. We argued that our client was dealing with addiction issues at the time and had turned his life around. The judge agreed with our submissions that the appropriate sentence was a house arrest.
Result: No Jail Time
