R. v. E.S. – August 2023

Our client was alleged to have intentionally closed a door on his wife, resulting in visible injuries. We gathered medication documentation which proved that our client had just been released from hospital for sepsis. We argued to Crown counsel that the inconsistencies in the complainant’s evidence and the photographs which showed no visible injuries, along with our client’s weakened state would be persuasive at a trial. The matter was resolved with a Peace Bond.
