R. v. S.M. – July 2023

Our client was alleged to have committed multiple assaults against his common-law partner and alleged to have attempted to dissuade her from attending court to testify against him. Over many months our lawyers negotiated with Crown counsel to avoid multiple trials in two jurisdictions. We provided Crown counsel with photos, videos and police reports from Alberta which suggested the complainant was not credible. All files were eventually resolved with a Conditional Discharge.
