Our client was charged with Assault after it was alleged by the complainant and other witnesses that he grabbed a woman by her clothes, pulled her out of a car, threw her to the ground and dragged her along the ground.
Immediately upon being retained we recommended to our client that he begin Anger Management Counselling and get us some reference letters. After adjourning the case long enough for our client to complete some counselling, we provided letters to the Crown confirming our client’s otherwise good character, his completion of counselling and his abstention from alcohol. We also provided the Crown with further mitigating information about the incident itself. Crown agreed to drop the Assault charge.
RESULT: no trial, no criminal record, no conditions
