Our client was charged with three counts of assault and one count of unlawful confinement over a three-year period by his ex-wife. Our client was facing up to 10 years in jail if convicted of the unlawful confinement. Due to extensive cross-examination, the complainant’s evasive answers left the trial judge in doubt about three out of the four charges. We raised medical evidence which refuted parts of the complaint’s evidence. Judge acquitted our client of three out of the four charges, including the serious unlawful confinement.

Result: Acquitted on three counts and probation
