While in law school, Kelly participated in the Law Students Legal Advice Program where he successfully defended his first criminal case. He articled with Jay Solomon, gaining experience in criminal defence, particularly with respect to marijuana growing operations. After being called to the bar, Kelly worked for Murchison, Thomson and Clarke conducting federal drug prosecutions as an agent for the Department of Justice. He joined Sicotte & Henry in 2007, now devoting his practice exclusively to criminal defence work. Kelly has successfully defended clients at all levels of court in British Columbia.
